The SCR Foundation is pleased to present our 2nd Annual “Derby Days” on Thursday, May 21, in the Timbers Ballroom.
Doors open at 5PM (No-Host Bar); Mexican Dinner Buffet at 6PM; Races begin at 7PM.
Tickets are $75 each. Purchase tickets during Courier Days at our table, April 1 and May 1 from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The event will have a capacity of 150 guests, and it is open to the public. This means you can invite your friends and family over the age of 18 to attend.
The evening will begin with an opportunity to purchase a racehorse (limit six) for a minimum of $250. Once you own a horse, you name it, decorate it and select a jockey from your group to compete. One lucky horse will be named the Overall Winner of the evening, splitting the final purse Prize Money with the Foundation. Opportunities are unlimited – bid on all 6 horses for all races at $2.00/per horse. 1st Place (WIN) is 20%, 2nd Place (PLACE), 3rd Place (SHOW)10%. Raffle tickets will also be available for $1.00 each with proceeds split between the winner and the Foundation.
Fundraisers held by the Foundation throughout the year allow us to maintain vital programs for residents in our Sun City Roseville community. Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you at the Races.
Annual Volunteer Thank You event
The Foundation held our Annual Volunteer Thank You event on March 13. We had 46 volunteers attend a catered lunch provided by Elana’s. We are grateful to all our volunteers and appreciate all the time and efforts they give to support the Foundation by helping residents. Our Home Maintenance program has teams of volunteers who help with our smoke alarms or change our light bulbs. We have phone volunteers who receive and return calls from the Foundation line, and we have many other volunteer roles that allow the Foundation to support our community. Currently, the Home Maintenance program is looking for volunteers. Please contact Roy Myers at (805) 558-1927.
Upcoming Mix and Mingle
Save the Date of April 29 between 2PM and 4PM in the Ballroom for the Annual Mix and Mingle for residents to learn about the opportunities to volunteer in the community. Come see us at our table and learn more about the Foundation, what it does in our community and how you can support your neighbors by supporting the Foundation.
